<br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />Councilor Schue said the intent of her motion was to carry out the wishes of <br />the ballot measure proponents; it was not her intent to make a personal <br />statement or to debate the issue. Mayor Obie agreed, but he said he did not <br />agree with the reading of the issue. He said he may ask the City Recorder to <br />read the measure for the council. Mr. Holmer said he felt that dissemination <br />of the measure to the media met the measure requirements. He said the coun- <br />cil motion went beyond what the measure required. He said he had previously <br />asked staff to draft language for a voters pamphlet which would demonstrate <br />both sides of controversial issues. He said that a public reading of the <br />ballot measure was inappropriate. <br /> <br />x. OTHER ITEMS FROM THE COUNCIL <br /> <br />A. Remodeling of Mayor's and City Manager's Offices <br /> <br />Referring to a layout of the Mayor's and City Manager's Office areas, Mayor <br />Obie reported that the office area was being remodeled to provide a new coun- <br />cil conference and reception area. <br /> <br />B.
