<br />.. <br />" <br /> <br />\, <br /> <br />represented many of the organizations involved in culture and leisure <br />activities in the community and the public at large. tit <br /> <br />In October, 1984 a draft of the Culture/Leisure Plan prepared by the Planning <br />Team was presented to the public at an information session and to over 20 <br />boards, commission, and committees with interests in culture and leisure <br />activities. On November 7, 1984 the Eugene Planning Commission held a public <br />hearing on the October draft Culture/Leisure Plan. At a work session held <br />November 19, 1984 the Planning Commission agreed to establish a special t~sk <br />team to revi se the October draft Cul ture/Lei sure Pl an in order to address <br />concerns raised by the public, staff, and commission members. Members of the <br />task team included two Planning Commissioners, two members of the <br />Culture/Leisure Planning Team, and a member of the Performing Arts Commission. <br /> <br />< <br />On March 20, -1985 the Culture/Leisure Task Team forwarded the March draft <br />Culture/Leisure Plan to the Planning Commission. The task team also forwarded <br />a recommendation to the Planning Commission that a resolution be adopted by <br />the City Council authorizing the establishment of a publici private <br />partnership to help implement the Culture/Leisure Plan. The Planning <br />Commission held a public hearing on the March draft Culture/Leisure Plan on <br />April 2, 1985. On April 29, 1985 the Planning Commission recom-mended that <br />the City Council adopt the March draft Culture/Leisure Plan with specific <br />additions and deletions based on the Commission's deliberations and the public <br />testimony presented. The Planning Commission's recommended changes to the <br />March draft are incorporated in the April draft Culture/Leisure Plan. <br /> <br />Attached for your information is an article entitled "What makes a cultural <br />policy?" that was published in PLACE. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />P ltbc 1 m2 <br /> <br />e <br />
