Figure 16 shows the Office of Economic Analysis's (OEA) forecast of <br />population by age group for 2000 to 2040 for Lane County. The OEA <br />forecasts that Lane County will experience growth in all age groups. The <br />share of population in people 60 years and older is forecast to increase <br />from 17% of the population in 2000 to 27% of the population in 2040. The <br />share of population 29 years and younger is forecast to decrease from 42% <br />in 2000 to 36% in 2040. <br />Figure 16.
