<br />",., <br />e HOME BUILDERS ASSOCIATION OF LANE COUNTY <br /> 1686 Pearl Street <br /> Eugene, Oregon 97401 <br /> (503) 484-5020 <br /> November 8, 1985 <br /> TO: Eugene City Council <br /> FROM: John Bennett, Home Builders Association of Lane County- <br /> SUBJECT: City of Eugene Honored by National Association of Home <br /> Builders in National Competition <br /> The National Association of Home Builders recently recognized the <br /> City of Eugene for its efforts to reduce development costs and <br /> thus promote housing affordability in the Eugene area. <br /> Eugene received a Certificate of Achievement for its involvement <br /> in recognizing problems with its permit processing procedures, <br />e analyzing the strengths and weaknesses of the system, developing <br /> new implementation procedures, and providing a completely new <br /> facility to serve as a one-stop processing station. <br /> Eugene won its award in the Non-Builder Associations Division of <br /> the contest. The Home Builders Association of Lane County was <br /> recognized for its work with the city in the Small Associations <br /> Division of the same nationwide competition, for its cooperation <br /> with the City of Eugene and other local jurisdictions and <br /> agencies. <br /> The judging for the awards was conducted by an independent panel <br /> of members of the national Association of Real Estate Editors: <br /> Penelope Lemov, of BUILDER Magazine; Barry Jacobs, or Housing <br /> and Development Reporter; and Ken Eskey, of the Scripps-Howard <br /> News Service. <br />e <br />
