Wong, Finance Director
SUBJECT: RESOLUTIONS - RESERVE FOR ENCUMBRANCES
Outstanding purchase orders as of June 30, 1985 are carried forward into
FY86 and funding is required to increase the department1s appropriation to
cover these purchase orders; the purchase orders are for goods and services
ordered but not recieved in FY85. In May, 1985, the Reserve for Encumbrance
account was set up in funds based on the amount of purchase orders anticipated
to be outstanding as of June 30, 1985. It is now time to reconcile this
process.
Two resolutions are required to complete the Reserve for Encumbrance process.
The first is a resolution to transfer funds from the Reserve for Encumbrance
account in each fund to the operating departments with outstanding purchase
orders in that fund. The second resolution is to transfer the excess in the
Reserve to one of the non-departmental IIholding" accounts.
cc: G. Long
Attachments: 2 .
bdmwrfem
-
-
