<br /> IV. EUGENE/SPRINGFIELD METROPOLITAN PARTNERSHIP'S QUARTERLY REPORT (report <br />e distributed) <br /> City Manager Micheal Gleason introduced the agenda item. Vicki Dietmeyer, <br /> Manager of the Eugene/Springfield Metropolitan Partnership, reviewed the <br /> quarterly report of the partnership. She said the partnership is laying a <br /> foundation for economic development. She would like comments from the council <br /> and the public about what is wanted for the area's future economy. <br /> Ms. Dietmeyer discussed economic conditions in the San Francisco area and the <br /> Wescon Electronics Trade Show which the staff attended recently. She said the <br /> staff will attend trade shows in the future at which targeted industries, such <br /> as plastics and food industries, are represented. The staff will work closely <br /> with realtors. She said it is important to have industrial sites developed <br /> and ready for construction. She said the partnership will apply for State <br /> lottery funds for Development Expo next fall. <br /> Ms. Ehrman said she would like comments from the counci1's appointees to the <br /> Partnership Board of Directors. Answering questions from Ms. Ehrman, <br /> Ms. Dietmeyer said Board members need to be more involved in partnership <br /> activities. She is instituting a monthly newsletter and breakfast meetings <br /> with board members to increase communication. <br /> Mayor Obie said board members have been asked on what committees they would <br /> like to serve. <br />e Ms. Bascom said the Quarterly Business Profiles sponsored by the partnership <br /> and the BATeam have been helpful to her. <br /> Mayor Obie said he hoped Ms. Dietmeyer will take part in the review of all the <br /> City's economic development activities which the council requested. <br /> V. ROUTINE ITEMS FOR COUNCIL APPROVAL <br /> A. City Council Minutes of November 13, 1985, and Special Meeting of <br /> November 18, 1985 (minutes distributed) <br /> Ms. Wooten moved, seconded by Mr. Hansen, to approve the City <br /> Council minutes of November 13, 1985, and November 18, 1985. <br /> Roll call vote; the motion carried unanimously, 7:0. <br /> B. Resolutions Concerning the Reserves for Encumbrances (memo, <br /> resolutions, background information distributed) <br /> City Manager Micheal Gleason introduced the agenda item. Finance Director <br /> Warren Wong gave the staff report.
