Subsequent agenda items were <br />renumbered.) <br /> <br />XI. FIRST READING OF ORDINANCE REGARDING CABLE FRANCHISE <br /> <br />City Manager Mike Gleason introduced the topic. Randy Kolb, Information <br />Services Director, was available to answer questions. <br /> <br />CB 4300--An ordinance granting to TCI Cablevision of Oregon, <br />Inc., a renewal of its non-exclusive franchise for <br />the operation of a cable communication system only. <br /> <br />Mr. Boles moved, seconded by Ms. Ehrman, to consider the first <br />reading of an ordinance granting a TCI Cablevision franchise. <br />Roll call vote; the motion carried unanimously, 6:0. <br /> <br />XII. BALLOTING TO DETERMINE INTERVIEWEES FOR THE OPENING ON THE PLANNING <br />COMMISSION <br /> <br />City Manager Mike Gleason introduced the topic. <br /> <br />Mr. Boles moved, seconded by Mr. Robi nette, to i nterv i ew Ell en <br />Wojahn, Monte Marshall, and Donna Turring for the opening on <br />the Planning Commission. <br /> <br />Ms. Bascom requested that the council recruit a larger pool of interviewees, <br />noting that the interview process provides a good opportunity for the council <br />to consider applicants for future positions. <br /> <br />Ms. Ehrman voiced concern that certain areas of the City are not being repre- <br />sented on the Planning Commission. She suggested that the council re-ballot <br />at the next council meeting. <br /> <br />Roll call vote; the motion carried 4:2, with councilors Rutan, <br />Boles, Robinette, and Nicholson voting in favor, and council- <br />ors Ehrman and Bascom opposed. <br /> <br />At 12:25 a.m. the meeting was adjourned. <br /> <br />MINUTES--Eugene City Council <br /> <br />April 8, 1991 <br /> <br />Page 17 <br />
