Subsequent agenda items were renumbered.) XI. FIRST READING OF ORDINANCE REGARDING CABLE FRANCHISE City Manager Mike Gleason introduced the topic. Randy Kolb, Information Services Director, was available to answer questions. CB 4300--An ordinance granting to TCI Cablevision of Oregon, Inc., a renewal of its non-exclusive franchise for the operation of a cable communication system only. Mr. Boles moved, seconded by Ms. Ehrman, to consider the first reading of an ordinance granting a TCI Cablevision franchise. Roll call vote; the motion carried unanimously, 6:0. XII. BALLOTING TO DETERMINE INTERVIEWEES FOR THE OPENING ON THE PLANNING COMMISSION City Manager Mike Gleason introduced the topic. Mr. Boles moved, seconded by Mr. Robi nette, to i nterv i ew Ell en Wojahn, Monte Marshall, and Donna Turring for the opening on the Planning Commission. Ms. Bascom requested that the council recruit a larger pool of interviewees, noting that the interview process provides a good opportunity for the council to consider applicants for future positions. Ms. Ehrman voiced concern that certain areas of the City are not being repre- sented on the Planning Commission. She suggested that the council re-ballot at the next council meeting. Roll call vote; the motion carried 4:2, with councilors Rutan, Boles, Robinette, and Nicholson voting in favor, and council- ors Ehrman and Bascom opposed. At 12:25 a.m. the meeting was adjourned.
