Ethel Martinson, 1520 Elkay Drive, said she shared some of Ms. Simmons' sug- gestions and concerns. Tom Heintz, 1038 Jayne Street, Chair of the River Road Community Organiza- tion, requested an additional seven days to review material he received con- cerning the proposed withdrawal of the properties located in the River Road district. He said that he wanted to call a meeting of the organization to discuss the information. There being no other requests to speak on this item, the public hearing was closed. Ms. Czerniak clarified that the annexations of the properties have already been approved by the Lane County Local Government Boundary Commission and that a separate process was required to withdraw the properties from their water and park districts. Mr. Nicholson asked if not withdrawing the properties could result in in- creasing the property owners' taxes. Ms. Czerniak confirmed this. Referring to Mr. Heintz's testimony, Ms. Ehrman said that notices regarding the proposed withdrawals had been posted for approximately two weeks prior to this public hearing. e Mr. MacDonald requested a follow-up report on the safety concerns expressed by Ms. Simmons and on her suggestion to prohibit automobile access to the Walnut Grove site.
