<br />~ Athletics Program <br /> <br />The council offered a strategy to reduce General Fund support for the program <br />through a variety of means, including reduction in field maintenance, 100 <br />percent cost recovery for programs, field rental, privatization, and <br />consolidation as part of Analysis Package A. <br /> <br />PARKS SERVICES <br /> <br />Downtown Mall Maintenance <br /> <br />The council agreed to further analysis of a strategy to eliminate the City's <br />contribution to the program and sell the public right-of-way associated with <br />the mall as part of Package A. The council also included as part of Analysis <br />Package C a strategy to reduce the service level to a contract for sweeping <br />and trash removal only. <br /> <br />Planning and Property Management <br /> <br />Building and Park Amenities <br /> <br />The council agreed that the service level for these categories would be <br />determined by the final mix of services selected, and included the strategy <br />of "maintain" for all packages. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Turf and Grounds <br /> <br />The council agreed to further analysis of a strategy to reduce the service <br />level by 50 percent as part of Package A; added a strategy to enhance the <br />service level and increase funding by 25 to 50 percent through consolidation <br />with the school districts, increased use of community corrections and <br />volunteer labor, and General Fund dollars as part of Analysis Package B; and <br />included a strategy to reduce General Fund support to the program by 50 <br />percent and consolidate the program with the school district in Analysis <br />Package C. <br /> <br />The meeting adjourned at 8:02 p.m. <br /> <br />~~ <br />' (~~~ <br /> <br />Micheal Gleason <br />City Manager <br /> <br />(Recorded by Kimberly Young) <br />mncc 020492-530 <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />MINUTES--Eugene City Council <br /> <br />February 4, 1992 <br /> <br />Page 4 <br />
