Items from Mayor and Council <br />A. City Council Work Session--Ms. Smith asked that possible <br />future involvement in a civic auditorium be added to the <br />work session agenda. <br /> <br />B. Active Bethel Citizens--Mr. Haws noted there would be an <br />open house Sunday, March 13, from 1-4 p.m., at the Peterson <br />Park Barn. <br /> <br />C. Appointments <br />1. Mechanical Board--Donn Chase was reappointed by Mayor <br />Keller for a five-year term ending 1/1/82. <br />2. Traffic Safety Commission--Mayor Keller appointed Gwen <br />Neet. <br />3. Zoning Board of Appeals--Mayor Keller reappointed <br />Margaret Guitteau for a term ending 1/1/82; Dr. Stoddard <br />Malarkey, to fill unexpired term of Eleanor Mulder, term <br />ending 1/ l/79. <br />4. Building/Housing Code Board of Appeals--Dave Pedersen, <br />term ending l/I/82. <br />5. Sign Code Board of Appeals--Reappointment of Owen McCullen <br />and Dave Hoffman, for terms ending 1/1/80. <br /> <br />Mr. Haws moved, seconded by Mr. Hamel, to approve the <br />appointment. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />6. Library Board--Tom Gilbert to fill the unexpired term of <br />Dr. Charles S. Williams, term ending l/l/78. <br /> <br />Mr. Haws moved, seconded by Mr. Hamel, to approve the <br />appointment. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />D. Field Burning--Mayor Keller noted a hearing by the Senate <br />Legislative Committee will be held Thursday, March 17, 7 p.m. <br />in the City Council Chambers with the topic being impact of <br />field burning. <br /> <br />E. Public Works Quarterly Report--Report distributed to the <br />Council. Manager commended the staff of the Public Works <br />Department for its fine report. <br /> <br />F. Legislative Subcommittee--Minutes distributed to the Council. <br />Manager indicated there was only one bill, House Bill 2213 <br />which resulted in a 2-1 vote. <br /> <br />3/14/77 - 29 <br /> <br />~~5 <br />
