<br />.~ <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />M I NUT E 5 <br />EUGENE CITY COUNCIL <br />March 5, 1980 <br /> <br />Adjourned meeting from February 27, 1980, of the City Council of the City of <br />Eugene, Oregon, was called to order by His Honor Mayor Gus Keller at 11:45 <br />a.m., with the following Councilors present: Betty Smith, Scott Lieuallen, <br />Jack Delay, Eric Haws, O. W. Hamel, Gretchen Miller, Brian Obie, and Emily <br />Schue. <br /> <br />I. ITEMS FROM MAYOR AND COUNCIL, APPOINTMENTS, ANNOUNCEMENTS, AGENDA ADJUSTMENTS <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />A. Election Filin~ Oate--Ms. Smith stated that Tuesday, March 11, 1980, <br />is the final flling date for people running for City Council positions <br />and for Mayor; she also noted a concern about the apparent apathy of <br />the citizens who are not willing to spend the time and energy to run <br />for the City Council. She also suggested that at a future date, the <br />Council might discuss the work load of the Council and perhaps a <br />partial compensation for that work. <br /> <br />B. Working Paper For Condominium Conversion--Mr. Delay stated that the <br />working paper for the condominium conversion has been distributed. He <br />noted that the paper submitt~d by the task force is a shopping list of <br />the various kinds of measures they will be considering. Mr. Delay <br />stated that today's meeting is an information meeting, as well as to <br />go over proposals made by Legal Aid. On Wednesday, March 12, 2:00 <br />p.m., in the McNutt Room, an open meeting will be held for receiving <br />feedback regarding what the regulations should contain. He urged <br />Councilors to review the information distributed to them over the <br />weekend. <br /> <br />C. Energy Conservation Policy Board Meeting--Mr. Obie stated that the <br />Energy Conservation Policy Board meeting to be held that night is <br />regarding mandatory weatherization and could be a critical one. He <br />urged as many Councilors as possible to attend. Mayor Keller noted <br />that he had an opportunity to review the papers which Greg Page, <br />Technology Coordinator, had provided and felt this meeting would be an <br />extremely productive one. <br /> <br />O. Room Tax Committee Meeting--Mr. Lieuallen noted that the next meeting <br />of the Room Tax Committee would be held on April 1, 1980, in the <br />McNutt Room, at 7:30 p.m. He further stated that evening meetings <br />were being scheduled so that more people could come and provide <br />input. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />F. Joint Parks Committee Meeting--Ms. Miller stated that the next <br />meeting of the Joint Parks Committee would be at 7:00 a.m., Tuesday, <br />April 8, 1980. <br /> <br />3/5/80--1 <br />
