<br />- <br /> <br />M I NUT E S <br />EUGENE CITY COUNCIL <br />May 19, 1980 <br /> <br />Special meeting of the City Council of the City of Eugene, Oregon, was called <br />to order by Council President Betty Smith, at 8 a.m., May 19, 1980, in the <br />Council Chamber with the following councilors present: Brian Obie, Jack Delay, <br />D. W. Hamel, Gretchen Miller, and Emily Schue. Mayor Gus Keller and Councilors <br />Eric Haws and Scott Lieuallen were absent. <br /> <br />I. CALLING JUNE 24 ELECTION/ESTABLISHING BALLOT TITLES <br /> <br />Ms. Smith stated these resolutions and this council bill are for the <br />purpose of calling the special election on June 24 and establishing <br />ballot titles to be placed on that ballot. <br /> <br />Res. No. 3362--A resolution referring Measure No. 51 to the legal voters <br />of the City of Eugene authorizing the City to tax owners <br />of property within the Downtown Development District <br />$229,740 outside the constitutional six-percent limita- <br />tion for 1980-1981. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Mr. Obie moved, seconded by Mr. Hamel, to adopt the resolution. Roll <br />call vote; motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Res. No. 3363--A resolution referring Measure No. 52 to the legal voters <br />of the City of Eugene authorizing levy in excess of <br />1980-81 charter tax limit general property taxes of <br />$1,521,766. <br /> <br />Mr. Obie moved, seconded by Mr. Hamel, to adopt the resolution. Roll <br />call vote; motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Res. No. 3364--A resolution referring Measure No. 63 to the legal voters <br />of the City of Eugene authorizing the City to levy partly <br />State-financed property tax of $8,436,177 outside the <br />constitutional six-percent limit for general 1980-81 <br />general operating expenses. <br /> <br />Mr. Obie moved, seconded by Mr. Hamel, to adopt the resolution. Roll <br />call vote; motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Res. No. 3365--A resolution referring Measure No. 54 to the legal voters <br />of the City of Eugene authorizing the City to levy totally <br />City-financed property tax of $1,521,766 outside the <br />constitutional six-percent limit for general 1980-81 <br />general operating expenses. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />5/19/80--1 <br />
