<br />e <br /> <br />Res. No. 3519--A resolution referring Measure No. 52 to the legal voters <br />of the City of Eugene authorizing levy in excess of 1981-82 <br />charter tax limit general property taxes of $1,260,185 <br />for 1981-82. <br /> <br />Ms. Smith moved, seconded by Mr. Hamel, to adopt the resolution. <br />Roll call vote. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />CB 2302--An ordinance ordering a special election to be conducted by the <br />Lane County Election Department on the 30th day of June, 1981, <br />for the purpose of submitting to the legal electors of the City <br />of Eugene a measure authorizing $188,666 tax on ownership of real <br />property in the Downtown Development District; a measure authoriz- <br />ing a $1,260,185 property tax outside 1981-82 charter limit <br />for general City operations during 1981-82 tax year; adopting <br />polling places and providing for all acts necessary for the <br />carrying on of said election; and declaring an emergency. <br /> <br />Ms. Smith moved, seconded by Mr. Hamel, that the bill be read the <br />second time by council bill number only, with unanimous consent <br />of the council, and that enactment be considered at this time. <br />Roll call vote. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />CB 2302 was read the second time by council bill number only. <br /> <br />Ms. Smith moved, seconded by Mr. Hamel, that the bill be approved <br />and given final passage. Roll call vote; all councilors present <br />voting aye, the bill was declared passed and numbered 18796. <br /> <br />Ms. Wooten left the meeting. <br /> <br />Ms. Miller noted of the smooth manner of this year's entire budget process and <br />thanked the council and members of the Budget Committee for their hard work. <br />She hoped that the electorate would examine the Eugene Plan and vote. <br /> <br />I. ITEMS FROM MAYOR AND COUNCIL, APPOINTMENTS, AGENDA ADJUSTMENTS (continued) <br /> <br />E. Council Dinner with County Commissioners and Springfield Councilors <br /> <br />Ms. Miller reminded councilors of the dinner May 21, 1981, with the Springfield <br />Councilors and the Lane County Commissioners to be held at the Lane County <br />Fairgrounds. <br /> <br />F. Appointments <br /> <br />Ms. Miller said that a number of City committees and commissions had vacant <br />positions and that some groups were having problems with meeting quorums. She <br />noted vacancies on the Eugene Renewal Agency, Economic Development Committee, <br />Joint Parks Committee, and the Community Development Committee.
