Hours have been extended at Sheldon and Echo Hollow pools to better e <br />accommodate those swimmers accustomed to swimming at Jefferson Pool. Addi tional <br />information should be available by the end of this week. <br />Ms. Miller noted that a citizen has requested to speak to the council regarding <br />Jefferson Pool. Council consensus was to allow him to speak. <br />Carl Hosticka, 2420 Emerald, stated that people are concerned about Jefferson <br />Pool and a meeting was held last night to discuss the situation. They are happy <br />to see that the Parks Department is making rapid progress on this issue and they <br />are pleased that hours have been extended at the other pools. He thanked staff <br />for their timely work. <br />II. ROUTINE ITEMS FOR COUNCIL APPROVAL <br /> A. PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> A. Downtown Development District Tax Administration: Boundary Revision <br /> and Tax Apportionment Dates (memo, ordinances, and map distributed) <br />Mr. Gleason stated that Council Bill 2393 is changing the boundaries since <br />existing boundaries go through the middle of a structure. Council Bill 2394 <br />would change the number of times the ad valorem taxes are collected from three <br />per year to four times a year. <br />Ms. Wooten asked what financial difference the boundary change would make in <br />terms of actual dollars if the taxes are collected differently. Elaine Stewart, <br />HCC, stated that the hotel dollars have never been anticipated since half of <br />that structure was out of the district.
