2017 Pedestrian and Bicycle Improvement Projects <br />Project Description: In addition to the pedestrian and bicycle improvements incorporated into <br />paving projects, pedestrian and bicycle improvements were constructed at six locations in 2017: <br />Installed sidewalk ramps and Pedestrian Island on Royal Ave at Throne Drive. <br />· <br />Installed sidewalk ramps, median and rectangular rapid flashing beacon on Irvington Dr. <br />· <br />Installed street signs on the West Bank Path. <br />· <br />Installed sidewalk ramps and Pedestrian Island on Country Club Road. <br />· <br />th <br />Installed new ramps and buffered bike lane striping on 24 Ave. <br />· <br />th <br />Installed school zone signage and hardware on Willamette Street north of 35 Avenue. <br />· <br />The project also included constructing traffic calming in three locations. <br />· <br />Costs: <br />Total Project Cost, from all funding sources = <br />$664,900 <br />Bond Funds Used = <br />$294,500 <br />Additional Sources of Funding: Traffic Operations Improvement Funds, Traffic Calming Funds, <br />Parks SDC, and 4J Funds. <br />See the Memo in Appendix C for additional projects that included bond funds for pedestrian and <br />bicycling improvements. <br />Pedestrian and Bicycle Improvements Fund Forecast: The 2012 bond measure allocated a <br />total of $2,580,000 for pedestrian and bicycle improvements. The average total amount per year <br />is $516,000 over the five year bond. Over the first four years expenditures on all pedestrian and <br />bicycle improvements funded by the bond have totaled approximately $2,371,500.
