Does the Manager actively promote, support and
' i champion efforts to achieve a representative
i .workforce while maintaining a discrimination-
..... free environment?

I am determined to pursue a values-driven leadership style informed by our recently adopted City
values and operating principles. To that end, we have completed values and ethics training in
every department led by each department's management team members. We stress that in order
to fulfill our core municipal mission, we must maintain the highest integrity, courtesy, fairness,
honesty and common sense in all of our dealings.

I make it a priority to make the five values of good government--democracy, public service,
professionalism, public ethics and diversity-- the comerstone of our City operations. By word
and deed, I try to demonstrate my commitment to democratic principles by respecting elected
officials, community members, and the public decision-making process.

We continue to focus on improving communication inside and outside of the city organization. I
think by fostering better communication, understanding and mutual support among all of us
associated with crafting and supporting City Council goals and service delivery priorities, we
will achieve a better outcome. I continue to send regular and periodic emails on emerging and
important topics to all City employees.
