Element E: Department Operations OverallRating 4~
l=Ve

Indicators

1. Has the Manager appropriately guided the
Central Services Department to be effective and
meet community needs? (Finance, Municipal
Court, Facilities, Information Services, and City
Manager's Office)

2. Has the Manager appropriately guided the Fire
Department to be effective and meet community
needs?

3. Has the Manager appropriately guided the
Human Resource and Risk Services Department
~ to be effective and meet community needs?
4. Has the Manager appropriately guided the
Library, Recreation, and Cultural Services
Department to be effective and meet community
~ needs?

_ _ X _ _ 5. Has the Manager appropriately guided the
Planning and Development Department to be
_ _ effective and meet community needs?

i 6. Has the Manager appropriately guided the Police
i__ Department to be effective and meet community
needs?
_ 7. Has the Manager appropriately guided the Public
Works Department to be effective and meet
community needs?
Comments including examples of past performance to support your appraisal
#2: Communication/clarity regarding Fire/EMS vision and long-term plans is much better than
previous year.

#3: I don't feel comfortable rating HR this year because of issues raised in ICMA/PERF, and
issues around the departed diversity manager.

#5: I am looking forward to positive changes in PDD with the new acting director and ultimately
the new permanent director (whether that's the same person or a different one).

#7: I'm very impressed by the ongoing operations in Public Works. My reason for the lower
rating is an ongoing problem of positive community/neighborhood relations around proposed
projects, especially street projects.

7
