Broadway, Suite 400
Eugene, OR 97401-3111

Re: 3r~ & 4th Avenue Improvements
Dear Mr. Mecham:

In response to your letter dated June 2,1, 2005, regarding the formation of a local
improvement district for 3rd and 4th Avenues, I agree that sufficient remonstrance for this
project does not exist and thus I withdraw my previous remonstrance.

Regarding the project itself, we remain concerned about the traffic calming measures
being proposed. Based on over ten years of observing traffic patterns on this street, we
believe a speed bump should be installed between the proposed raised crosswalk at 4th
and Pearl and the proposed raised sidewalk located midway between Pearl and Lincoln.
The modifications to this street are going to encourage increased pedestrian and bicycle
traffic and the safety of these individuals will be greatly enhanced by installing a speed
bump as discussed above.

Should you have any questions, please feel free to call.

David Davini

khc
cc: PM-1838
