The Mercer Group, Inc. has branch offices in Colorado, Texas, Michigan, Georgia, Louisiana, Arizona, North Carolina, New Mexico, Oklahoma and California. We will work on the assignment from our California office. This search will be personally conducted by Mr. Clark Wurzberger, Senior Vice President and Manager of our California offic'e, located in the Sacramento area. Mr. Wurzberger will be responsible for all tasks associated with the project and' will be assisted by Mr. James L. Mercer, President and CEO of the Mercer Group, Inc. Mr. Wurzberger is just completing a search for an Executive Director of Community Planning for a major university city in Colorado and has just initiated a search for a Chief of Police for a California city with a population of approximately 100,000. 4. Please include a tentative timeline for this recruitment based on your experience. In your response, please keep he following information and timelines in mind: . Council Members m_ay want to view the application information submitted by every candidate The search process normally takes 90 -120 days to complete after approval of the-Position Profile. Mr. Wurzberger is available for an initial meeting with the Mayor and City Council from September 15 - 19, but Mr. Wurzberger and Mr. Mercer are expecting to exhibit at the Exposition of the International City and County Management Association in Richmond, Virginia from September 20 - 23. Mr. Wurzberger and Mr. Mercer have the time available to devote to the completion of this search assignment.
