2.3.2 Past Trail Improvements and Upgrades <br />Over the past decade, the City has been able to <br />make significant functional improvements to a <br />number of existing trails. Major improvement <br />projects have included: <br />• Skinner Butte Trail system <br />improvements, directional signage, and <br />kiosks <br />• Spencer Butte Main Summit Trail <br />directional signage, fencing, resurfacing, <br />and drainage improvements <br />• Spencer Butte Lower Westside Trail <br />resurfacing and fencing <br />• Ridgeline Trail <br />resurfacing/reconstruction, drainage <br />improvements, signage, and kiosks <br />• Wayne Morse Family Farm Trail <br />resurfacing and widening <br />• Bond Lane Park Trail reconstruction <br />• Hawkins Heights Park Trail resurfacing <br />• Moon Mountain Park Trail <br />improvements <br />• Ridgeline Trail realignment in Mariposa <br />Woodlands -near Willamette Street <br />trail head <br />• Resurfacing and other improvements to <br />the Tie Trail (connector trail from the <br />Ridgeline Trail to Spence Butte) <br />• Pre's Trail surfacing and drainage <br />improvements (regular Oregon Track Club <br />volunteer project) <br />The City often partners with yolunteers <br />and stakeholder groups such as the <br />Obsidians shown above~ to help perform <br />trail maintenance activities. <br />• Resurfacing gravel roads in Wild Iris Ridge Park to improve maintenance access and use as a <br />recreational trail (approximately 3,900 linear feet) <br />• Numerous neighborhood trail connectors and maintenance access points (Pinewood Terrace, <br />Owl Road, Dillard Trail to BPA easement, Solar Heights neighborhood) <br />2.3.3 Past Trail Additions and Major Reconstruction <br />Over the past decade, the City has constructed approximately 5.5 miles of new trail within the system: <br />• Amazon Headwaters Trail -Martin Street to the Ridgeline Trail at Fox Hollow Road (5,300 If) <br />• Ribbon Trail and associated connector trails -30 th Avenue to Hendricks Park (3,900 If) <br />• Central Boulevard Connector Trail near Laurelwood Golf Course -30th Avenue to Central <br />. Boulevard (2,300 If) <br />• Dillard Connector Trail -new Ridgeline Trail segment parallel to Dillard Road (3,300 If) <br />• Skinner Butte Park north side trail system reconstruction and new connector trail from River <br />Play (5,100 If) <br />• Wild Iris Ridge neighborhood connector trail from Bailey View Lane (450 If) <br />• Ferndale Park Trail (900 If) <br />• Bond Lane Park Trail segment (1,500 If) <br />Eugene Trails Plan -2018 Page 15
