These projects total approximately <br />6.0 miles and include: <br />• Wild Iris Ridge Trail and parking lot <br />(7 ,800 If of new trail starting at <br />Bailey Hill Road, scheduled for <br />2016) <br />• Upper Amazon Running Trail <br />reconstruction (18,500 If of trail <br />reconstruction in conjunction with <br />the Amazon Active Transportation <br />Project, scheduled for 2018) <br />• Three pedestrian bridges over <br />Amazon Creek (in conjunction with <br />the Amazon Active Transportation <br />Project, scheduled for 2018) <br />2.4 System Evaluation and Assessment <br />2.4.1 User Conflicts and Public Safety Issues <br />Based on input received from various user <br />groups, City staff, and the public during this <br />planning process, some real and perceived <br />conflicts between user groups exist and <br />overcrowding along some trail segments is <br />Trail construction near the summit of <br />Spencer Butte (summer 2015) <br />occurring on high use days. The most cited user conflict was between bicycles and pedestrians, but user <br />conflicts between pedestrians and runners were also noted. The Ridgeline Trail and the Amazon <br />Headwaters Trail were the areas that were most commonly cited for crowding and user conflict.
