The project consisted of 111 units, nine of which were live-work <br />units that would face the street, and\vouldbe a 'big step forward in bringing households into the <br />downtown core. He said a Downtown <br />Visioning process was conducted in 2000, followed 'by the Downtown Plan Update in 2004, <br />which resulted in the idea of Great Streets, including Willamette Street and Broadway, which led <br />to the current RFQ process. Broadway and Willamette Street had been identified in the visioning <br />and planning work as the place where activity, de'nsity and high quality urban design should be <br />focused. He said West Broadway was anchored by Broadway .Place, and the streets bad been <br />reopened. East Broadway was considered one of the most successful retail blocks in downtown. <br />It has been recognized that the gap in realizing the "Great Street" is in the two block stretch, the <br />blocks between Willamette and Chamelton Streets, and was the focus of the RFQ>> <br /> <br />tfhe following firms responded to the RFQ: <br />.
