Concluding Remarks <br />The inventory of the City’s internal GHG emissions provides the foundation for an <br />operational climate action plan. The next steps in the process are to adopt an emissions <br />reduction goal, define emissions reduction targets, quantify the relative impacts of <br />existing efforts and develop specific strategies to achieve these targets. While the <br />magnitude of the City’s operational emissions is small in comparison to the community- <br />wide emissions, it is critical that the City provide leadership by demonstrating both <br />commitment and workable strategies within our own operations. When combined with a <br />climate action plan for the community, the City of Eugene’s internal plan will help form a <br />comprehensive strategy for local climate action. <br /> <br /> 5 <br />
