He noted that the meeting
was for the purpose of interviewing candidates for vacant positions on the Toxics Board and Budget
Committee.

The candidate for the Toxics Board, Greg Harrows, was asked the following questions:

1. Why are you interested in serving on the Toxics Board?

2. Please tell us about your experience advocating for the public's right to know.

3. The Toxics Board is intentionally composed to include a range of views. How do you in-
tend to work collaboratively in this context?

4. The Toxics Board works with highly technical information and materials. What experience,
abilities, or skills do you intend to use to discuss and communicate these types of issues
with other board members and to the public?

5. In what ways do you believe the Toxics Right-to-Know Program has been of benefit to the
Eugene community?

6. Do you have any questions of us?

Candidates interviewed for vacancies on the Budget Committee included Deanna Kilger, Sandra Ludeman,
Mary Ann Holser, Jeffrey Mills, Brian Kurz, Doug Smith, and Joe Potwora. Candidates were asked the
following questions:

1. In your opinion, which City issues should be given the highest priority by the Budget Commit-
tee over the next four years, and which of these do you consider to be the most important is-
sue, and why?

MINUTES—Eugene City Council October 7, 2008 Page 1
Boards, Commissions, and Committees Interviews
