Mr. Papé hoped the work plan would be revisited with the council so it could track progress, determine if
mid-course corrections were needed, and celebrate the City’s accomplishments. City Manager Taylor
indicated staff would provide quarterly updates on the goal as with other goals. In addition, information on
the council’s goals and progress on them would be posted on the City’s Web site.

Ms. Ortiz said she would be proud to sign the pledge. She said that if staff needed additional money for
outreach and training, it should ask the council for it.

Ms. Bettman agreed that adopting the pledge was a good idea and suggested it be edited to be more City-
centric. She also supported mounting the pledge on the meeting room wall.

Mr. Poling, seconded by Ms. Solomon, moved to approve the revised Race Priority Issue
Action Plan. The motion passed unanimously.

Mayor Piercy thanked staff for its continued effort in working on the council’s eight priority goals.

The meeting adjourned at 6:50 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Dennis M.
