ORDINANCE N0. 1~1,g <br />AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE METROPOLITAN INDUSTRIAL LANDS <br />SPECIAL STUDY INVENTORY AND POLICY RECOMMENDATIONS REPORTS, <br />ADOPTING GOVERNMENT-INITIATED AMENDMENTS TO THE METROPOLITAN <br />AREA GENERAL PLAN TEXT, AND ADOPTING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE. <br />The City Counci 1 of the City of Eugene finds as fo11 ows: <br />1. The Metropolitan Industrial Lands Special Study was initiated in <br />January, I989, to answer some long-standing questions about the demand for <br />and supply of industrial sites in the Metropolitan Area and to u date the <br />~ ndustr~ al ]ands ort i on of p <br />p the Metrapol ~ tan Area General Plan . <br />~. The Metropolitan Industrial Lands Special Study is tom osed of two <br />components. The inventor re o p <br />y p rt includes a detailed descr~pt~on of the <br />Special Study's purpose, background and methodology, economic trends Comm - <br />nity objectives, and lon -term Indust ' u <br />g rzal lands supply and demand. It pro- <br />vides information in support of the policy recommendations re ort. The ' <br />,p pol~- <br />cy recommendations report analyzes the policy framework fvr ~ndustr~al land <br />allocations, evaluates the development potential of sites throu hout th <br />metro of i tan area and i n ~ g e <br />p cl udes a f ~ nd~ ngs, concl us ~ ons and a serf es of i m- <br />plementat~on strategies, <br />3. The Eugene, Springfield, and <br />ommended approval of the inventory and <br />support material far implementation of <br />ority Twa Implementation Strategies in <br />Lane County Planning Commissions rec- <br />pol i cy recommendations reports as <br />the recommended Priority One and Pri- <br />the policy recommendations report. <br />5.
