Staff collects data across 36 services <br />and uses it to inform management decisions and report the City’s performance to the public. Eugene <br />benchmarks its performance against 115 jurisdictions through the ICMA’s Center for Performance <br />Measurement, and has received a “Trailblazer” grant from the National Center for Civic Innovation to <br />make its performance information more accessible and useful to the public. <br /> <br />This year, the City has taken a leadership role in improving the practice of performance measurement in <br />the region, co-founding with the Oregon Progress Board an organization that brings State and local <br />government together to address key performance management issues and work toward the development <br />of a performance consortium that will give Oregon communities access to regional comparative data for <br />a broad range of local government services. <br /> <br />Joining Eugene in receiving the Certificate of Distinction, the top honor in the ICMA’s certificate program, <br />were Austin, Texas; Bellevue, Wash.; Coral Springs, Fla.; Elgin, Ill.; Fairfax County, Va.; Hamilton <br />County, Ohio; Henderson and Las Vegas, Nev.; Miami-Dade County, Orlando, and Palm Coast, Fla.; <br />Phoenix, Ariz.; Prince William County, Va.; Reno, Nev.; San Jose and Santa Barbara County, Calif.; <br />Vancouver, Wash.; and Westminster, Colo. The jurisdictions receiving the Certificate of Achievement <br />were Bryan, Texas; Des Moines, Iowa; Gainesville, Fla.; North Las Vegas, Nev.; Richmond, Va.; <br />Sarasota County, Fla.; St. Charles, Ill.; and Tucson, Ariz.
