Each artist, through
his or her artistic medium, touches upon the subject matter of birds.
Bird watching is rapidly gaining popularity across the country, and
Oregon is no exception. From the bald eagles of the high deserts to
the great blue herons of the valley wetlands, from the spotted owls of
the dense forests to the tufted puffins of the coastal waters, Oregon
has something to offer all bird enthusiasts. It is no surprise that the
artists of Oregon are often inspired by our feathered friends. The
public is invited to view this unique exhibit through December 1.

The Gallery at the Airport opened in November 1994, under the
sponsorship of the Arts Foundation of Western Oregon, formerly the
Eugene Arts Foundation. Currently a program of Lane Arts Council,
the gallery presents three professionally curated exhibits each year.
The Gallery at the Airport can be viewed by ticketed passengers of the
Eugene Airport or by appointment. For more information on this show
contact Dena E. Brown, curator of the Gallery at the Airport, at
744-0909, or the Lane Arts Council at 485-2278. For more information
about the gallery or access, contact Airport Manager Bob Noble at
682-5430.
“Pigeon Skeleton” by Thomas

THIS WEEK
10/06 Th 5:30pm All BCC Interviews (HRC) McNutt Room

NEXT WEEK
10/10 M 5:30pm All Council Dinner Work Session McNutt Room
ABSENT: Piercy, Papé
10/10 M 7:30pm All Council Meeting Council Chamber
ABSENT: Piercy, Papé
10/11 T 7:00pm All Joint Elected Officials LCOG, Springfield
ABSENT: Piercy, Papé, Kelly
10/12 W Noon All Council Lunch Work Session McNutt Room
ABSENT: Piercy, Papé
10/13 Th 5:30pm BB, AO Police Commission McNutt Room

UPCOMING
10/17 M Noon GP, BB, BT IGR Committee McNutt Room **
10/18 T 6:00pm DK Human Rights Commission McNutt Room
Fire Station #1
10/19 W Noon All Council Lunch Work Session **
(Extended meeting to 4:00 p.m.)
10/20 Th 11:30am KP,DK Metropolitan Policy Committee EPL/Bascom-Tykeson **
10/24 M 5:30pm All Council Dinner Work Session McNutt Room

EUGENE CITY COUNCIL NEWSLETTER PAGE 2
October 10, 2005
