Repairs shall be completed by City staff, or by an approved contractor as directed by the <br />Utility Inspector, at the permittee’s expense. <br /> All traffic control markings removed or otherwise impacted during construction shall be replaced in <br />kind with like material. <br /> Surface restoration within a bike lane shall be made the full width of the bike lane. In no case shall a <br />longitudinal restoration leave a parallel surface joint within the bike lane area. <br /> The top finish elevation grade for underground vaults in the street shall be at least 18 inches below the <br />finish grade of the surface AC or PCC. <br /> Above-ground facilities shall not be placed in a manner that would cause a vision obstruction as <br />defined by EC 6.010 (j). <br /> When wastewater lateral markers in new developments are damaged, the permittee or the permittee’s <br />contractor shall replace the marker and ensure its correct location <br /> Sections of a sidewalk and driveway approaches removed by the permittee, shall be removed to the <br />nearest existing score or joint in each direction. In addition, portions of the sidewalk and driveway <br />approaches damaged by the permittee's work shall be removed and replaced in whole panels to the <br />next nearest joint. <br /> When sidewalk, curb ramps or driveways are impacted or replaced, it shall be in accordance to current <br />ADA requirements and City standards as shown in the Standard Drawings specifications. <br /> Where sections of curb or curb and gutter are removed by the permittee, a minimum of 10 linear feet <br />of curb and gutter shall be removed and replaced. An alternative to this requirement shall be removing <br />and replacing three (3) linear feet of curb and gutter with the new curb and gutter tied into the existing <br />curb by inserting three 12 inch x #4 rebar dowels drilled and epoxied into six (6) inch deep holes in <br />the adjoining existing curbs and gutters, 1 dowel in the curb and 2 dowels in the gutter at each end of <br />the replaced section (City Standard drawing RD 700(A). <br /> When the gutter bar portion of the curb and gutter is removed along an asphalt street, at least 24 inches <br />of asphalt concrete shall be removed to allow sufficient room for placement of the forms for the new <br />face of the gutter and proper compaction of asphalt restoration. An alternate to the removal of adjacent <br />asphalt shall be to saw cut the asphalt at the face of the gutter bar, using the edge of asphalt as the form <br />for concrete replacement <br /> Catch basins or storm inlets abutting the work area shall be inspected by the permittee or permittee’s <br />contractor at the conclusion of work and cleaned of construction-related debris as necessary. <br /> Public dry wells shall not be disturbed in any way without the prior written consent of the Utility <br />Coordinator. If a public dry well is encountered during excavation, the permittee or permittee’s <br />contractor must immediately stop working in the area of the dry well. Any disturbance or damage to <br />a public dry well must be reported immediately to the Utility Coordinator and repair/replacement shall <br />be the responsibility of the permittee. <br />The placement of above ground utility infrastructure shall meet the following:
