<br />Sustain Countv Service Levels. The budget includes $3.9 million to sustain the existing service <br />level in county government. Without these funds, the county will be forced to make layoffs" <br />Given that over 65 percent of discretionary general fund expenditures, this means that existing <br />public safety services will be reduced. It doesn't make much sense to fund programs and <br />services to achieve the four goals listed above and then make layoffs over the next five years. <br />Cost: $3,900,000 <br />Results: Not including a catastrophic event such as the Congress not funding the Secure Rural <br />Schools program, this amount of money should be able to sustain county services for the next <br />five fiscal years without significant reductions. <br /> <br />Property and Evidence StoragelManagement. Property and evidence management and proper <br />legal storage now exceeds capacity. The need for long term property and evidence storage will <br />also be proportionally increased with new programs and services.
