This is due in large part to the vision that created
,.some of the first paved cycling trails in the country, right here in Eugene and Springfield. And in
fact, the riverbank trails are the "crown jewels" to a welkonnected and popular bicycling
network for visitors and residents alike.

CV Alea has promoted mountain biking, road touring, cycling events and bicycle manufacturers
for more than 15 years. One of the first cycling loops, complete with its own popular brochure,
was a route from Eugene to Salem and back connecting the riverbank trail system to River Road
on the way to Junction City and beyond. We continue to promote this loop and appreciate the
added safety that this proposed connection under Beltline would alfow. '

The riverbank trail system is an important destination in the Eugen~ and Springfield area and
any extension or improvement will only make it more desirable. I encourage ODOT and FHW A
to fund this project.

, Sincerely,

~ \~~0

Natalie Inouye
Vice Presidenf of Tourism Marketing

r'

Letter of support for the
WEST BANK TRAIL EXTENSION,
formerly called Division!
River Avenue Bikeway.
