Adequate drainage paths shall be provided around <br />structures on slopes to guide floodwaters around and away <br />from proposed structures. <br />Where hazardous velocities are noted on the FIRM, consideration <br />shall be given to mitigating the effects of these velocities through <br />proper construction techniques and methods. <br /> <br />Section 37. Section 9.6730 of the Eugene Code, 1971, is amended by adding a <br /> <br />Subsection (4) thereto, to provide: <br /> <br />9.6730 <br /> <br />Pedestrian Circulation On-Site. <br /> <br />(4) Adjustment. These standards may be adjusted if consistent with the criteria <br />of EC 9.8030(22). <br /> <br />Section 38. The following building features may project into <br />the required front yard setback no more than 5 feet and into the required <br />interior yard setback no more than 2 feet; provided, that such <br />projections are at least 8 feet from any building on an adjacent lot: <br />1. Eaves, cornices, belt courses, sills, awnings, buttresses or other <br />similar features. <br />2. Chimneys, fireplaces, and bay windows, provided they do not <br />exceed 8 feet in width. <br />3. Porches, platforms or landings with roofs which do not extend <br />above the level of the first floor of the building. <br />(b) Multiple StOry Structures (2 or more floors). For multiple-story buildings, <br />portions of buildings that may project into required front yard setbacks <br />no more than 5 feet and into the required interior yard setback no more <br />than 2 feet, provided such projections are at least 8 feet from any <br />building on an adjacent lot, include: <br />1. Eaves, cornices, belt courses, sills, awnings, buttresses or other <br />similar features. <br />2. Chimneys and fireplaces, provided they do not exceed 8 feet in <br />width. <br />3. Open porches no deeper than 10 feet and no higher than 15 feet <br />may project into required yards that abut streets. <br />4.
