ORDINANCE No. 20105 <br />AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING ART IN PUBLIC PLACES; <br />AND AMENDING SECTIONS 2.638, 2.640, 2.642, 2.644, <br />AND 2.648 OF THE EUGENE CODE,1971. <br />THE CITY OF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. Section 2.635 of the Eugene Code, 1971, is amended by adding a <br />definitian of "Deaccessioning" in alphabetical order therein, and amending the definition <br />of "Public place" contained therein, to provide: <br />2.638 Definitions. For purposes of sections 2.635 to 2.645 of this code, the <br />following words and phrases mean: <br />Deaccessioning. The end of the use yr display of artwork in a public <br />place by appropriate means, including, but not limited to, removal and <br />storage, sale, or termination of a contract or agreement. <br />Public place. Any building, park, mall, or other capital construction <br />project abut not including streets, alleys, bicycle paths, and other public <br />thoroughfares} constructed, remodeled, or purchased by the city which <br />construction, remodeling or purchasing involves the expenditure of more <br />than $50, ooo. <br />Section 2. Section 2.640 of the Eugene Code, 1971, is amended to provide: <br />2.640 Fund for Art in Public Places Established. There is hereby created a special <br />fund to be used to make provisions for works of art in public places and <br />improvements owned by the city. One percent ~1°/a} of ali funds for construction, <br />remodeling, or purchasing of public places hereafter authorized by the city shall be <br />appropriated and deposited into this fund. <br />Section 3.
