2.642 Fund for Art in Public Places - Use of Funds. At an appropriate initial stage <br />in the planning, design, construction, or purchase of a public place, the city <br />department or authority designated by the city manager to be responsible far construction <br />yr purchase of the public place, together with the visual arts coordinator, shall establish <br />a budget amount for the works of art to be provided as a part of the project and a <br />recommended medium and location for such works of art. The amount budgeted far a <br />particular project may be less than the deposit into the fund fvr art in public places <br />generated by that project under section 2.64D of this cade. Such budget amount and <br />further recommendations shall be reviewed and approved by the city manager, whose <br />approval shall be final. <br />Section 4. Section 2.644 of the Eugene Code, 1911, is amended to provide: <br />2.644 Fund for Art in Public Places -Sur lus. The unused balance of the fund for <br />art in public places at the end ofanyfiscal period shall be carried forward for <br />use asset forth in section 2.648 of this cade. <br />Section 5. Subsection ~1} of Section 2,648 of the Eugene Code, 1911, is amended <br />by adding subparagraphs (k), (I), and (m) thereto, and Subparagraphs (h) and (i) of <br />Subsection (2) are repealed, and the current Subparagraph (j) relettered (h), to provide: <br />2.648 Fund for Art in Public Places -Selection of Art. <br />~1} Appropriations from the fund for art in public places may be spent for: <br />~k} Expenses for registration, appraisal, maintenance, repair and <br />deaccessioning of artworks in the city's public art collection. <br />~l} Expenses for promotion and education activities associated <br />with the public art program. <br />gym} Administrative expenses for management of the city's public ark <br />program, including but not limited to, promotion and education activities, <br />selection, acquisition, placement, registration, appraisal, maintenance, repair <br />and deaccessioning of artworks. <br />~2} Appropriations from the fund fvr art in public places may not be spent <br />for: <br />(h) Architect's fees. <br />ordinance - 2 <br />
