<br />RIVER A VENUE TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENTS <br />"CLOSE THE LOOP" <br />RIVER ROAD COMMUNITY ORGANIZATION <br />OCTOBER 17,2005 <br />COMMENTS <br /> <br />Q: Stripping of crosswalk gives pedestrians or vehicles right.....of-way? <br />A: Pedestrians, but be aware of vehicles not obeying right-of-way laws. <br /> <br />Trees planted at owner's discretion - Concern is ovvners do not live there. <br /> <br />Pedestrian Islands Removed - Concern less safe with just striping. <br /> <br />Concerned about elaborate sidewalks with low number of pedestrians. <br /> <br />Q: Why is project ending short of Beltline? <br />A: Uncertainty about Beldine work, difficulty with funding, environmental permits. <br /> <br />Future Howard Ave. Improvements are a concern. Speed, Pedestrians, Traffic Safety. <br /> <br />Q: Will this design be used for Horn Lane Improvements? <br />A: Horn Lane is a neighborhood collector and River Avenue is a major collector, the standards <br />are different for the different type of street classifications. <br /> <br />PedJBike crossing @ PO needs to be raised due to safety concerns <br /> <br />Center turn lane needs to be broken up visually with median plantings <br />
