"CLOSE THE LOOP" - SANTA CLARA COMMUNITY COMMENTS
NOVEMBER 3, 2005

Request bicycle pedestrian path connection to Division Street as part of River Avenue
project.

River Road Community Organization concerned about bio-swale and curb design

Life cycle cost of bio-swales

West of Ross Lane on north and south sides of street, there are set back sidewalks. That
setback with street trees should utilize bioswale cleaning of storm water as that area is
most heavily traveled and will need cleaning the most. So request to have bioswales with
trees where ever there is set back sidewalks. Long term cost/benefit analysis would
support use ofbio-swales instead of piping -let's do it right from the start.

Find other streets with bio-swales as an example.

Share bio-swale detail with City Council

Concerned about trees being planted on north side of River Avenue, east of the post
office at property owner's discretion.

Request if ODOT could provide longer eastbound onramp to Beltline

Do options exist to find other City funding to complete bicycle/pedestrian path
connection to Division?

Consider pervious concrete for sidewalks along River Avenue

Keep all stakeholders on board for review in advancement of River A venue design plans

C:\Documcnts and Scttings\ccexclt'\Local Scttings\Temporary Internet Files\OLK67\200SI103 seeo COffimcnts.doc
