We enjoy the beauty of the neighborhood, with its older trees
and mix of homes and residents. We renovated our home and spend many
hours working in our garden, walking the neighborhood and enjoying the
location of our home. Our midwife (who lives around the corner) helped
deliver our 2 year-old daughter at our home and we plan on living here
for many, many years. We can walk and bike almost anywhere we need to
and we visit with neighbors daily. This is a great neighborhood that
deserves to be considered carefully.

I have seen first hand the negative effects of suburban sprawl in
Southern California, and I know that thoughtful infill is necessary and
important. preserving the quality of our neighborhood can be
accomplished along with responsible, thoughtful infill.

The plan that neighborhood residents have carefully crafted, in tandem
with members of the planning department, preserves the beauty and
quality of our neighborhood, while inviting significantly more people to
participate as homeowners and renters.

I urge you to vote yes on these amendments.

Sincerely,

Dr. Steve Pethick
987 Almaden
Eugene, OR 97402

1
