<br />1 <br />KEY RESIDENTIAL LAND USE GOALS AND POLICIES <br /> <br />Eugene/Springfield Metro Area General Plan <br /> <br />A.13 Increase overall residential density in the metropolitan area by creating more <br />opportunities for effectively.designed in-fiU, redevelopment, and mixed use while <br />considering the impacts of increased residential density on historic. existing. and future <br />neighborhoods. <br /> <br />A.25 Conserve the metropolitan area's supply of existing affordable housing and increase the <br />stability and quality of older residential neighborhoods, through measures such as <br />revita1ization~ code enforcement; appropriate zoning; rehabilitation programs; <br />relocation of existing structures; traffic calming; parking requirements~ or public safety <br />considerations. These actions should support planned densities in these areas. <br /> <br />Westside Neighborhood Plan <br /> <br />Wests ide Neighborhood Plan Goals <br /> <br />. Protect and improve the residential quality of the neighborhood. <br /> <br />. Ensure that new development is in scale and harmony with the existing neighborhood <br />character. <br />Westside Neighborhood Plan Policies <br /> <br />. Prevent erosion of the neighborhood's residential character. <br /> <br />. Identify and encourage preservation of significant cultural resources and unique features <br />of the neighborhood including buildings, sites, structures, objects, street trees, and <br />landscape features. <br />. The City shall encourage actions that will preserve existing residential structures, <br />including rehabilitation, block planning, and shared housing. <br /> <br />Jefferson/F ar West Refinement Plan <br /> <br />. Recognize the potential for planning at the block level and promote actions that will <br />increase the ability of residents and property owners to participate in decisions which <br />affect their individual blocks. <br /> <br />. Encourage the involvement of citizens in land use decisions that may affect them. <br /> <br />. . .. In an effort to allow additional residential units and yet maintain the character of the <br />area, the City shall encourage block planning, infilling, and shared housing. <br /> <br />.
