The number of signs within a general commercial s~i~gn district shall be based on the number of street frontages and shall be limited to no more than the foliow- i ng amounts for each street frontage: ~ 1 } ~ f the development site i s occupied by only one business occupant; a. One under-marquee sign, and b. One awning, marquee, or freestanding sign . c. The business occupant may substitute two wall signs on separate wall s, or two single-faced roof signs, or one wall and one single-faced roof sign for the free- standi ng sign permitted i n paragraph ~ 1 } b. of this sub- sect i on . ~ 2 } I f the development site i s occupied by more than one business occupant; a. The sum of the area of all wall signs, marquee signs and awning signs on any wall within this district shall be 1 i mi ted to 1, 5 square feet times the 1 ength of the perimeter wall upon which the signs are located. b.
