ORDINANCE N0. 19723 <br />AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING SNOW EMERGENCY REGULATIONS; <br />AMENDING SECTION 5.014 OF THE EUGENE CODE, 1971; AND <br />ADDING NEW SECTIONS 5.677, 5.678, 5.679, 5.680, 5.681, <br />5.682, 5.683, 5.684, 5.685, 5.686, AND 5.687 TO THE <br />EUGENE CODE, 1911. <br />THE CITY OF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. Section 5.010 of the Eugene Code, 1911, is amended by add- <br />the fallowing definitions in alphabetical order therein: <br />5.410 <br />Snow emer enc . An <br />prohibitions in sections <br />Snow emergency rout <br />or three roadways on the <br />5.995 of this code as it <br />tian 5.686 of this code. <br />event which occurs whenever the parking <br />5.617 and 5.678 become effective. <br />es. The following caption, and Sections 5.677, 5,678, 5.619, <br />5.680, 5.681, 5.682, 5,683, 5.684, 5.685, 5.686, and 5.687 are hereby added <br />t0 the Eugene Cade, 1911, to provide: <br />Snow Emer enc <br />5.611 Snow Emer enc -Parkin on Priorit One and Priorit Two Routes. <br />. ~1} Whenever the city manager or the managers designee finds, on <br />the bans of falling snow, sleet, freezing rain, formation of ice, or on the <br />basis of a forecast by the U. S. Weather Bureau of snow, sleet or freezing <br />rain, that weather conditions will make it necessary that streets be sanded <br />and that parking on city streets be prohibited or restricted for snow plowing <br />and other purposes, the city manager ar the manager's designee may put into <br />effect a parking proh~b~t~on on all Or parts of priority vne routes and <br />priority two routes as necessary by declaring it in the manner prescribed by <br />section 5.681 of this code. <br />~2} ,Notwithstanding the provisions of section ~1} of this section, <br />a parking proh~b~t~on.shall automatically go into effect on any part of any <br />priar~ty one or pr~ar~ty two route on which there has been an accumulation of <br />one inch or more of snow or an accumulation of ice on the road surface. <br />~3} Once in effect, a prohibition under this section shall remain <br />in effect until terminated by announcement of the city manager or the <br />Ordinance - 1 <br />
