X12} The first sentence of Section 4.148 of the Uniform Fire Cade <br />is amended to read: <br />Sec. 4.108. When required by code or administrative rule, <br />the permit shall be obtained prior to engaging in the following activities: <br />X13} Subsection 9.101~a} of the Uniform Fire Code is amended to <br />read: <br />Section 9.101 a Amendments. Whenever a reference is made to <br />any portion of this code or any other applicable law or ordinance, <br />the reference applies to all amendments and additions now or here- <br />after made. <br />~ 14} Section 9.103 of the Uniform Fire Code i s amended by adding <br />a definition for "Administrative Code" in alphabetical order therein: <br />ADMINISTRATIVE CODE means the code adopted by section 8.444 <br />of the Eugene Code, 1911. <br />X15} Section 9.104 of the Uniform Fire Code is amended by amending <br />the definition of "Bureau of Fire Prevention" to read: <br />BUREAU OF FIRE PREVENTION is the Department of Public Safety <br />of the city. <br />X16} 5ection 9.105 of the Uniform Fire Cade is amended by amending <br />the definition of "Chief or Chief of the Fire Department," and adding in <br />alphabetical order therein a definition for "Combustible Goods or Merchan- <br />dise" to read: <br />Chief or Chief of the Fire De artment is the city manager or <br />his or her designee. <br />Combustible Goods or Merchandise sha11 include items made of <br />wood, paper ar rubber; those containing flammable liquids; those <br />packed with quantities of excelsior, moss ar paper; other goods or <br />merchandise of equivalent or greater combustibility and other <br />readily ignitable ar free burning material. <br />X11} 5ection 9.148 of the Uniform Fire Code is amended by amend- <br />ing the definitions of Fire department and Fireworks included therein to <br />read: <br />Fire de artment is the Department of Public Safety for the <br />City of Eugene. <br />Fireworks means any combustible or explosive camposi t i vn or <br />substance, or any combination of such compositions or substances, <br />or any other article which was prepared for the purpose of provid- <br />~ng a visible or audible effect by combustion, explosion, deflag- <br />rati on or detonation, and includes blank cartridges or toy cannons <br />i n which explosives are used, bai 1 Dons wh ~ ch require fire under- <br />neath to propel the same, firecrackers, torpedoes, skyrockets, <br />Raman candles, bombs, rockets, colored fires, mines, serpents ar <br />any other article of like construction or any article containing <br />any explosive or inflammable compound, or any tablets or other de- <br />v i ce containing any explosive substances or i of 1 ammabl a compound; <br />but does not include: <br />1. Tay pistol paper caps, toy pistols, toy canes, toy <br />guns, or other devices in which paper caps containing .25 <br />grains or less of explosive compound are used. <br />2. Snakes or s i mi 1 ar smoke-producing material cantai n i ng <br />not more than 144 grains of combustible substances when there <br />is no visible flame during discharge. <br />3.
