•r <br />'7. <br />!` <br />FINDINGS AND RECOMMENDATIONS <br />PROJECT: 5ANITARY SEWER IN WQQDRUFF STREET FROM ENID ROAD TO <br />6D4 FEET NORTH 4CONTRACT #89-01~. <br />BACKGROUND <br />This project was initiated by a petition and annexations of pro- <br />perties within the area of Woodruff Street from Enid Road to 600 <br />feet North. Based on the ?7 percent ..petition, and recent annexa- <br />tions to the City of Eugene the project was initiated by order of <br />the City Engineer and dated January 5, 1989, as provided for in <br />the Eugene Code 7.160t5~, <br />Property owners were notified of the pending award hearing 10 <br />days prior to the hearing. The project was authorized for <br />construction by the City Council on February 2?, 1989. The low <br />bid was submitted by Eugene Sane & Gravel, Inc., for an amount of <br />$15,135.00. <br />PROJECT <br />The project includes 489 lin, ft, of ~" PVC sanitary sewer pipe <br />and two manholes, and service lines. <br />ASSESSMENT <br />Under City of Eugene assessment policy, most of the cost is <br />assessed to the abutting property awners. The costs to be <br />assessed are shown below: <br />Lateral sewer <br />Sanitary sewer <br />Trunk levy <br />$ 0.127/sq. ft. <br />$ 834.56/each <br />$ 0.025/sq. ft. <br />Costs listed below are the Engineer's estimate and preliminary <br />costs quoted to the property owners at the award hearing <br />following bid opening. <br />Lateral sewer $ 0.13/sq, ft. <br />Sanitary sewer $ 835.00/each <br />Trunk levy $ 0.025/sq, ft. <br />FINDING AND RECOMMENDATION <br />Costs are comparable to projects of similar size and are lower <br />than preliminary costs quoted at the award hearing.
