oRDINANcE No. X9309 <br />AN ORDINANCE ORDERING A SPECIAL CITY ELECTION <br />TO BE CONDUCTED BY THE LANE COUNTY ELECTION <br />DEPARTMENT ON MARCH 26, 1985 FOR THE PURPOSE <br />OF REFERRING TO THE LEGAL ELECTORS OF THE <br />CITY OF EUGENE AN ORDINANCE TO ALLOW THE <br />CITY TD ENTER INTO AGREEMENTS TO FACILITATE <br />A STREET WIDENING AND LANDSCAPING PROJECT; <br />PROVIDING FOR ALL ACTS NECESSARY FOR THE <br />CARRYING ON OF SAID ELECTION; AND DECLARING <br />AN EMERGENCY. <br />THE CITY OF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. The City Council does hereby order an election <br />to be held in the City of Eugene, Oregon concurrently with the <br />special election on Tuesday, ~~arch 2~, 1955, at which time there <br />shall be submitted to the electors of the City for their approval <br />or rejection, the following Ordinance, to-wit: <br />Measure No. 51 <br />SUBMITTED TO THE VOTERS <br />BY THE CITY COUNCIL <br />Authorizes City Agreements to Facilitate bth/7th Avenues <br />Widening and Landscaping. <br />Shall City of Eugene enter into cooperative agreements <br />with the State to facilitate widening parts of 6th <br />and 7th Avenues? <br />The State proposes to widen, reconstruct and landscape <br />6th and 7th Avenues between Garfield and High Streets. <br />The widening will require the removal of some historic <br />street trees. The City Charter requires voter approval <br />before the City enters into cooperative agreements <br />with the State to facilitate such street widenings. <br />This Leasure refers to the voters an Ordinance authorizing <br />the City Manager to enter into such cooperative agreements <br />within the next five years. <br />AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING THE RECONSTRUCTION, WIDENING <br />AND LANDSCAPING OF 5TH AND 7TH AVENUES AND AUTHORIZING <br />EXECUTION OF AGREEMENTS THEREFOR. <br />1 - Ordinance <br />
