an investigation or investigations far the purpose of obtaining
<br />information with reference to any of the following matters:
<br />Crimes against any commonwealth or wrongs done or threatened; the
<br />habits, conduct, movements, associates, transactions, reputation
<br />or character of persons; the credibility of witnesses ar other
<br />persons; the location or recovery of lost or stolen property; the
<br />securing of evidence to be used before authorized investigating
<br />committees, boards of award or arbitration, or in the trial of
<br />civil or criminal cases; the cause, origin, or responsibility for
<br />fire, accidents or injury tv real or personal property, ar
<br />strikes.
<br />Detective - Private. A person engaged in the business of
<br />furnishing or supplying information as to the personal character
<br />or actions or identity of a person or as to the character or kind
<br />of business or occupation of the person. A "Private Detective T"
<br />carries or has firearms in his or her possession while so
<br />employed. A "Private Detective TT" does not carry or have
<br />firearms in his or her possession while so employed. Private
<br />detective does not include an officer or employe of any law
<br />enforcement agency of the United States, or of any state, county
<br />or city, while engaged ~n the performance of his or her official
<br />duties.

<br />Game table. A card table or other similar structure
<br />accessible to members of the public or to members of a
<br />private club,
<br />Game table license. A plaque, card, or other document
<br />issued by the licensing authority designating the type and
<br />number of game tables as defined by this section and such
<br />other information as the licensing authority may require.
<br />.Tm~ro~er play. Any conduct that violates the gambling
<br />laws of the United States, or of the State of Oregon or
<br />engaging in the play of a social game permitted by this Cade
<br />in a manner not authorized by this Code or the rules and
<br />regulations promulgated by the licensing authority.
<br />Person in charge. Any individual, partnership, firm,
<br />association or corporation to whom a gambling license has
<br />been issued under the provisions of this Code. The term
<br />includes the license holder, designates, managers, and when
<br />a corporation holds a license, any substantial shareholder
<br />of the corporation and all corporate officers and directors.
<br />A substantial shareholder is one who owns at least 14
<br />percent of the issued shares of the corporation.
