An outlet into a watercourse, pond, ditch, <br />lake or other body of surface ar ground water. <br />~N. The logarithm of the reciprocal of the weight of hydrogen <br />ions ~n grams per liter of solution. <br />Pro erly shredded arba e. Waste from the preparation, caak- <br />ing, and dispensing of foods that have been shredded to such degree <br />that all particles will be carried freely under the flow conditions <br />normally prevailing in public sewers, with no particle any greater <br />than one-half inch in any dimension. <br />Public sewer, A sewer in which all owners of abutting pr~p- <br />erties have equal rights and is controlled by public authority. <br />Sanitary sewer. A sewer which carries sewage, into which <br />storm, surface and ground waters are not intentionally admitted. <br />5ani tary sewer user. A faci 1 i ty which discharges directly or <br />indirectly to the city sanitary sewerage system, or has a sanitary <br />sewer available as provided in section ~.OlC of this Cade. <br />Se~cwa e. a combination of the water-carried wastes from resi- <br />dences, business buildings, institutions and industrial establish- <br />ments together with ground, surface and storm waters as may be pre- <br />sent. <br />Sewer. A pipe or a conduit for carrying sewage. <br />Sewer service. includes, but is not limited to, construc- <br />tion, reconstruction, extension, operation, management and debt <br />retirement of a sewerage system. <br />Sewera e system. The equipment, pipe line system and facili- <br />ties as are needed far and are pertinent to the disposal of sewage <br />and water, and sewage treatment plant or separate pipe lines for <br />storm, surface and subsurface water, <br />Sin le dwellin unit. A facility designed for permanent or <br />semi-permanent occupancy by a single family and provided with mini- <br />mum kitchen , sleeping and sanitary faci 1 i ti es . <br />Storm sewer and storm drain. A sewer which carries storm and <br />surface waters and drainage but excludes sewage and polluted <br />industrial wastes. <br />Storm sewer user. Any water user within the city, <br />Storm water or storm sewa e. Excess water from rainfall ar <br />continuously following therefrom. <br />Surface water, Water other than storm water flawing on or <br />over the surface ground. <br />5u- speeded solids or SS. Solids that either float on the sur- <br />face ar are suspended~~~in water sewage or other liquids and which <br />are removable by laboratory filtering. <br />Transient rooms, motels hotels and student uarters. A <br />building or portion thereof containing four or more sleeping roams <br />customarily occupied as a more ar less temporary sleeping place for <br />persons for which compensation is paid. "Student quarters" in- <br />clude but are not limited to quad or quint dwellings as defined <br />in section 9.x15 of this code whether or not the unit is occupied <br />by students. <br />Ordinance - 2 <br />
