MWMC <br /> Pumps <br /> <br />7.2 Recommended Liquids Process Improvements <br /> <br />7.2.1 Secondary Treatment <br />Recommended enhancements to secondary treatment facilities include conversion of each <br />aeration basin (4 cells) to a step feed, plug flow activated sludge process with anoxic <br />selectors. The following modification are required and are shown in Figure 7.2.1-1: <br /> <br />· Addition of PE flow control gates for step feed of PE to each cell <br />· Addition of PI splitter control boxes to mix PE and RAS at each cell <br />· New primary effluent and RAS distribution header to each cell <br />· Addition of anoxic zone and anoxic mixers in each cell of each aeration basin <br />· Conversion of all coarse bubble aeration grids to fine bubble aeration <br />· New mixed liquor effluent gates in last cell of each aeration basin <br />· Enhance existing secondary clarifiers (see section 7.1.2) <br />· Two new secondary clarifiers <br /> <br />7-2 MWMC_7.0_REV4.DOC <br /> <br /> <br />
