<br />to read and provide;
<br />7.007 Rules and Regulations, The city engineer may adapt such rules and
<br />regu a pans as are necessary for himlher to perform the duties
<br />required by this chapter and to protect the public health, safety and wel-
<br />fare.
<br />7.010 Defi ni ti ans, For purposes of this chapter, the fallowing words
<br />an p rases shat l have the meanings ascribed to them by this sec-
<br />tion:

<br />Department. The public works department or such other depart-
<br />ment o t e c~ ty designated by the city manager,
<br />Domestic sewage, Sanitary sewage derived principally from
<br />dwel 1 i ngs, busy Hess bui 1 di ngs and institutions.
<br />Duplex. A building designed and used exclusively for occu-
<br />pancy by two families living independently of each other.
<br />Dwelling unit. As defined in section 9.015 of this code.
<br />Franchisee. Any person using the public way under authority
<br />of a special ordinance granting that person the privilege of using
<br />the public way for a fee and upon conditions.
<br />Garbage, Solid wastes from the preparation, cooki nq and
<br />dispens}ng of food, and from the handling, storage and sale of
<br />produce.
<br />Industrial waste or trade waste. Liquid wastes from i ndus-
<br />trial processes Inc u Ong suspen a solids.
<br />Local improvement. Improvements listed in ORS 223.387 which
<br />are in the pub ~c way.
<br />Multiple dwelling. A bui l di ng designed for or occupied by
<br />three or more fame 1 ~ es living independently of each other,
<br />Natural outlet. An outlet i nto a watercourse, pond, ditch,
<br />lake or other body of surface or ground water,
