Section 3. Subsections 42}, 43}, and 44} of Section 3.700 of the Eugene <br />Code, 1911, are amended to read and provide: <br />3.100 Downtown Develo meet District Tax - Lev . <br />42} Except as provided i n subsections 43} and 44} of this section <br />and except for professionals, for those exempt under state law from municipal <br />taxation, and for an owner or occupant of property exempt from taxation under <br />section 3.755 of this code, each person who engages in a business in the <br />Downtown Development District during part or all of a quarter of a year shall <br />pay to the city far that quarter a tax of $3.50 per $1,000 of the gross re- <br />tail sales and receipts from the business during that quarter. A minimum tax <br />of $10.0o shall be charged each quarter of a year for each business, <br />.43} Each person engaged in banking or a savings and loan associ- <br />at~on business ~n the Downtown Development District during part or all of a <br />quarter of a year, shall pay t0 the city for that quarter a tax of $3.50 per <br />$1,000 of one and three-quarters percent 4.0115} of the total demand deposits, <br />and of $3,50 per $1,000 of five-tenths of one percent 4.005} of the total <br />time deposits. Total time and demand deposits of banks shall be the total <br />daily average deposits during that quarter as reported on the Federal Reserve <br />Call; and total time deposits of savings and ]oan associtions shall be the <br />total daily average of all savings deposits during that quarter. Whenever <br />savings and loan associations receive demand-type deposits, the tax rate on <br />those deposits shall be $3.50 per $1,000 of one and three-quarters percent <br />4.0175} of the daily average of those deposits during that quarter. <br />44} Each person engaged i n a consumer finance business i n the <br />Downtown Development District during part or all of a quarter of a year shall <br />pay to the city far that quarter a tax of $3.50 per $1,OOo of five percent <br />4.05} of the total principal balance of direct loans outstanding at the end <br />of that quarter, excluding finance charges. <br />Section 4, Subsection 42} of Section 5.233 of the Eugene Code, 1911, <br />is amended to read and provide: <br />5.233 Information for Control of Parkin in Downtown Develo ment <br />District. <br />42} The information required by this section shall be supplied <br />in a mode and on forms prescribed by the city manager or the manager's <br />designee. <br />Section 5. Subsections (5) and (6) of Section 5.285 of the Eugene <br />Code, 1911, are amended to read and provide: <br />5.285 Ch arges fOr,Off-Street Parking. <br />45} Except for the airport as defined in section 2.415 of <br />this Code, the following maximum charges are hereby established for <br />Ordinance - 2 <br />
