Sparklers containing .25 grains or less of explosive <br />compound and having combustible material not more than ten <br />inches in length nor mare than 1/4 inch in diameter. <br />X10} Section 9.115 of the Uniform Fire Code is amended by chang- <br />ing the definition of Mechanical Cade included therein to read: <br />Mechanical Code is the State of Oregon Mechanical Specialty <br />Code and Mechanical Fire and Life Safety Regulations adopted by <br />section 8.495 of the Eugene Code, 1911. <br />X11} Section 9.111 of the Uniform Fire Cade is amended to add in <br />alphabetical order therein: <br />Grou SR Occu ancies shall be: <br />Division 1. Lodging and care of more than five but less <br />than 16 ambulatory persons who may be handicapped to a degree <br />which makes total self-dependence either impossible or unde- <br />sirable, but who possess sufficient faculties to recognize an <br />emergency situation and to react immediately and positively <br />to attain self-preservation. <br />Division 2. Lodging and supervision of more than five <br />persons who are not handicapped whose place of residence <br />therein is dictated by an authorized and duly responsible <br />governmental agency exercising legal restraint over the occu- <br />pants. <br />Division 3. Lodging and care of more than five unrelated <br />occupants living together in a special residential unit. <br />EXCEPTION: Group SR Occupancies da not include residen- <br />tial care facilities, nursing homes or other state- <br />licensed care facility. <br />~ 12 } ,Section 9.115 of the Uniform Fire Cade i s amended by chang- <br />~ng the def~nit~an of Plumbing Code included therein to read: <br />Plumbing. Code is the State of Oregon Plumbing Specialty Cade <br />as adopted by section 8.555 and amended by section 8.579 of the <br />Eugene Code, 1971. <br />X13} Sectian 9.121 of the Uniform Fire Code is amended to add in <br />alphabetical order therein: <br />Structural Specialty Code is the State of Oregon Structural <br />Specialty Code and Fire and Life Safety Code as ado ted b section <br />P y <br />8.010 and amended by sect~an 8.015 of the Eugene Code, 1911. <br />X14} Sectian 10.301~c} of the Uniform Fire Code is amended to <br />read; <br />Section 10.301 c -water Su 1 Re uired far Certain Public <br />Buildin s. Any public building, as defined in ORS 479.0101}~i}, <br />erected after July 1, 1961, that exceeds 5,000 square feet in <br />usable or occupied floor area or is more than two stories in height <br />and exceeds 2,00o square feet in usable or occupied ground floor <br />area shall have a readily available water supply within 500 feet <br />of such building of sufficient capacity to allow fire-fighting <br />apparatus to pump 500 gallons per minute far a period of ten min- <br />utes for each 5,000 square feet of occupied or usable floor area <br />or fraction thereof, up to 500 gallons per minute for 30 minutes. <br />Required water supplies may be provided by underground cis- <br />terns ar surface ponds, lakes or streams when approved and readily <br />access~b1e standpipes of not less than four inches inside diameter <br />with not less than two two-and-one-half inch outlets or equivalent <br />Ordinance - 4 <br />
