ORDINANCE N0. 19526 <br />AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING THE HULT CENTER PERFDRM- <br />ING ARTS COMMISSION; AMENDING 5ECTIONS 2.013, <br />2.630, 2.632, 2.634, AND 2.636 OF THE EUGENE <br />CODE, 1911; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />THE CITY OF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1, The designation of the "Hult Center Performing Arts Cammis- <br />sion" set forth in Subsection ~1} of Section 2.013 of the Eugene Cade, 1911 <br />s <br />is amended, and shall be rearranged in alphabetical order therein to ravide: <br />p <br />2.013 Cit Council - Boards, Commissions and Committees. <br />41} <br />Eu ene Cultural Affairs Commission <br />No. of Members: g <br />Appointment Process: Mayor nominates, Council ap oints <br />Term: p <br />4 years <br />Authority: EC 2.630, EC 2.634 <br />Section 2. Sections 2.630, 2.632, 2.634, and 2.636 of the Eu ene Code <br />g <br />1971, are amended to provide: <br />2.630 Eu ene Cultural Affairs Commission - Created. <br />.~1} As used in sections 2.630 to 2.636 of this code, the fallaw- <br />~ng words and phrases mean: <br />~a} Center. The Hult Center for the Performing Arts. <br />fib} Commission. The Eugene Cultural Affairs Commission. <br />~c} Director. The person, or persons, designated as the <br />directors} of the center and/or the cultural services division <br />of the department of parks, recreation and cultural services. <br />~d} Division. The cultural services division of the cit 's <br />y <br />department of parks, recreation and cultural services. <br />,~2} The Eugene Cultural Affairs Commission is established to serve <br />as an adv~sary body to the council an policy matters and to the cit mans er <br />and directors an o er t' y g <br />~ } p a ~ona1 matters relating to the city's cultural <br />affairs programs and the Hult Center for the Performing Arts. <br />2.632 Eu ene Cultural Affairs Commission -Duties. <br />~1} The commission shall consider, and when appropriate, submit b <br />resolution its recommendations a ~ y <br />. n policy to the council and on operational <br />matters to the city manager and d~rector~s}. Recommendations of the commis- <br />sion may include its consideration of such matters as: <br />~a} Whether the center and division are meeting the needs of <br />the community to the degree possible, and the commission shall <br />monitor community opinion in arriving at its evaluations; <br />fib} Long-range plans for the operational use of the center <br />Ordinance - 1 <br />
